Hi! I’m Cheryl Brooks, a Registered Dietitian with membership in the American Dietetic Association. Affiliations and practice groups with which I am associated include state and regional dietetic groups, Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Gerontological Nutritionists, Consulting Dietitians in Health Care, Vegetarian Nutrition and Vegetarian Resource Group, Nutrition in Complementary Care and Sports/Cardio/Wellness Nutrition Group.
My work experience is quite varied and includes all age groups infants through senior adult with employment opportunities including hospital food service, clinical dietitian, WIC nutritionist, Head Start , and long term care consulting dietitian. These experiences encompass 20+ years in the field of nutrition/dietetics/wellness.
Wellness is my passion and finding that balance between mind, body, and spirit is an ongoing journey. A journey that at times has been very difficult but also very rewarding.
My family includes Joe, my husband, and our two sons, Justin and Jeffrey, who have put up with me through this long process. Joe and Jeffrey continue to inspire me, and as they are musicians, music is an important part of our lives. Justin lives in our hearts and minds as he was tragically taken from us June 24, 2002 (see Memorial). We miss Justin and as in his short life he touched so many people, his memory continues to be an inspiration to me. Our family also includes Joe’ s three daughters, 2 spouses and 4 grand children.

Many people are caught up in the pursuit of weight loss versus wellness in an attempt to achieve unrealistic goals now. It's easy to be bogged down by all the media and propaganda of health claims that sap our time, energy and finances. Health and wellness does not have to be complicated, time consuming or expensive.
My desire is to help you develop realistic goals and achieve exciting outcomes of vibrant wellness. In this web site I'll share with you the knowledge, experience, and resources that have helped me in my journey toward wellness. Please visit often because as with wellness, this site is a work in progress and will be updated and added to frequently.
